DCRO Entry

Sorry I haven't been posting these last few days, but I've been feeling under the weather. Also, as of today, the blog has reached a total of a thousand visits! I know that's not that much, but it's more than every other internet project I've done combined, so I'm pretty happy. Thanks, everyone for following this silly little project thus far. Anyway, let's find out how this ends, I'm not expecting much...

After a short summary of the previous three parts, we cut to The Clock, who's driving the killer to his death. However, he has different plans...

The killer jumps, and The Clock jumps after him. Not to save his life though. "Slick" is tied up, and he had no hope of swimming to the shore, but The Clock ""saves"" him so he can grant him an even worse death at the hands of the victim's brother and his friends. Man, this guy is ruthless! Actually, I don't know if "ruthless" is the right word... More like "cruel".

They continue the walk through the metaphorical death row on foot, and when they get to the place there's a whole angry mob in there:

I guess "the victim's brother and his friends" was a slight understatement. Either that or the guy has a lot of friends.

It's kind of funny how, from the dialogue and the expressions, the killer seems only mildly distressed by the situation, saying stuff like "Aw nuts" and "--Sniff--". Maybe his death here is kind of being played as a joke by the author... Or maybe I'm reading too much into it...

Either way, after some more unheeded protests on the killer's side, we cut to The Clock recording this particular "adventure" in his diary (which might be an interesting character trait if it's developed in the future), and then we get a final shot to a newspaper:

As expected, "Slick" is dead, and if the black cloth The Clock wears wasn't dumb enough, we see the new image they got to represent him.

And that's the end of the story, so let's see the ratings, but first, you can read this issue here, This story starts on page six.

Quality/Enjoyment: 2/5

This last part felt kind of unnecessary. Nothing happened that we didn't already know would happen from the previous part. I guess there was kind of a small character moment with The Clock: We saw just how far he's willing to go, risking his own life to make sure that not only the criminals get caught, but also that they aren't even able to go on their own terms.

Historical/Cultural/Narrative Significance: 1/5

Alright, that's it for now. Next time we start yet another multi-parter, this time starring Doctor Occult. For now, thanks for reading and have a nice rest of your day!
